This is a live camera installed at Hijikawa Arashi Observation Park in Nagahama, Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture. It is broadcast by Ozu City Hall and the Ozu River and National Highway Office. Hijikawa Arashi Observation Park is a park with an observation deck on a hill overlooking the Hijikawa River mouth and the Seto Inland Sea, and was built to see the Hijikawa Storm. The Hijikawa Storm is a phenomenon in which fog generated in the Ozu Basin upstream of the Hijikawa River flows down to the Seto Inland Sea coast at the Hijikawa River mouth.
The Hijikawa Storm is a rare phenomenon that occurs in Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture, from around October to around March of the following year, especially at dawn on clear winter days. The cold air and fog in the Ozu Basin are carried by strong winds along the Hijikawa River and flow out into the Iyo-Nada Sea. Several conditions are necessary for this to occur, including clear skies, radiative cooling, high pressure, and southerly winds, and it can only be seen about a dozen times a year.
