About Fukui Prefecture
Fukui Prefecture is located in the Hokuriku region on the Sea of Japan side of Honshu, and its capital is Fukui City. It covers an area of approximately 4,190 square kilometers and has a population of about 730,000; it is broadly divided into the Reihoku and Reinan regions.
