Shiroyama Park in Asakawa Town, Ishikawa District, Fukushima Prefecture, is a park developed on the site of a mountain castle that was the residence of Asakawa Jirozaemon, a member of the Ishikawa family. Situated on a hill overlooking the town, it offers spectacular views of the Nasu mountain range to the west and the Yamizo mountain range to the south. With 80 types of trees, including cherry blossoms and azaleas, it can be enjoyed throughout the seasons. During the blooming season, lanterns are lit and the park is illuminated, and a “night cherry blossom fireworks” event is also held. The best time to see the cherry blossoms is usually from mid-April to early May.
