This camera lets you check road surface conditions, snow accumulation, icy roads, congestion, and road closure information on National Route 115 in real time, as well as snow removal conditions in winter and flooding during heavy rain and typhoons. Because the Tsuchiyu Tunnel lies on the main route between Tsuchiyu Onsen and the Inawashiro/Mt. Bandai area, it is especially useful for checking conditions before traveling during the snow season (late November to March) and for checking for icy roads in early spring.

Snow, Congestion, and Road Closure Information on National Route 115 (Tsuchiyu Road)
National Route 115 (Tsuchiyu Road / Tsuchiyu Bypass) is a mountain route connecting the Tsuchiyu Onsen side in Fukushima City with the Inawashiro-machi side. At high elevation, road freezing and snow accumulation typically begin from late November each year, making it a route that requires caution for winter travel through mid-March. The live camera on the Inawashiro side of the Tsuchiyu Tunnel lets you check in real time whether there is snow, the road surface condition, and visibility near the tunnel entrance.
During natural disasters such as heavy rain, typhoons, and earthquakes, you can also use it to check for road flooding and road closure information due to landslides. The latest road closure information can be confirmed at the Fukushima Prefecture Kenpoku Construction Office or the Fukushima Prefecture road information website. Using it together with the live camera on the Inawashiro side of the adjacent Yokomuki Ohashi Bridge and Yokomichi Tunnel gives you a more accurate picture of conditions across the entire Tsuchiyu Bypass.

Sightseeing, Hot Springs, and Access Information Around the Tsuchiyu Tunnel
Just on the Inawashiro side of the Tsuchiyu Tunnel there is an intersection with National Route 459, which serves as the access starting point toward Minowa Ski Resort, Hotel Premier Minowa, and the Yokomuki Onsen area. Tsuchiyu Onsen on the Fukushima side is about a 15-minute drive through the tunnel, and there are multiple hot spring inns where day-trip bathing is available.
Heading toward Inawashiro-machi, you can drive east along National Route 115 while enjoying views of Lake Inawashiro and Mt. Bandai. The lakeside area of Inawashiro has many tourist attractions such as the Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Museum and Inawashiro Resort Ski Resort, and the Tsuchiyu Tunnel is an important gateway route to them all. When heading to Inawashiro or Mt. Bandai during the snow season, we recommend using this live camera to check road surface conditions in advance.
