The Nikko Shirane Mountain Ropeway Summit Station in Katashina Village, Gunma Prefecture, is located at an altitude of 2,000m and is the access point to Nikko Shirane Mountain, the highest peak north of Kanto. When you get off at the summit station, you will find magnificent nature spreading out before you, and facilities such as the “Rock Garden” where alpine plants bloom, the “Sky Terrace” and “Sky Cafe” with spectacular views, and footbaths are available. From here, you can enjoy a full-scale climb to Nikko Shirane Mountain or an easy walking course.
