This is a live camera installed at Ataka-no-Seki, Kanjincho-no-Sato, Atakamachi, Komatsu, Ishikawa. You can see the Ataka-no-Seki Barrier, the bronze statues of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Benkei, and Sekishu Togashi, and the sunset over the Ataka Beach and the Sea of Japan.

Ataka-no-Seki Barrier is the former checkpoint where the Kabuki play “Kanjincho” was set. This is the checkpoint that Minamoto Yoshitsune is said to have passed through when he fled to Hiraizumi, Oshu, after being suspected of plotting by his older brother Minamoto Yoritomo. When Yoshitsune, who was disguised as a strongman (a luggage carrier), was suspected by the guard guard Yasuie Togashi when passing through a checkpoint, Benkei attacked him. The barrier guard was moved by their loyalty and let them pass even though he knew they were Yoshitsune and his party.
