Sakurajima is a composite active volcano located in Kagoshima Bay, Kagoshima Prefecture. It consists of Kita-dake, Naka-dake, Minami-dake, and other peaks, with Minami-dake at 1,117 meters. Volcanic activity is still ongoing, with the Japan Meteorological Agency constantly announcing eruption alert levels.
