Tateiwa is a huge rock about 20 meters high and about 1 kilometer in circumference, located in Tango-cho, Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture. This rock, which juts out into the Sea of Japan, is composed of andesite formed by volcanic activity about 60 million years ago.
