Courses and Slope Information at Meiho Ski Resort
Meiho Ski Resort consists of 13 courses across four slope areas. The course mix covers a wide range of levels, with 40% beginner, 45% intermediate, and 15% advanced terrain. Its large scale, including Okumino’s highest summit elevation, longest run, and largest vertical drop, is one of the resort’s main attractions.
The signature alpha 5000 course is one of western Japan’s largest long runs, descending 5,000 meters from the summit to the 900-meter base. With varied slope angles and terrain features, it allows beginner and intermediate skiers to enjoy relaxed cruising while taking in wide views of the Northern Alps. Six terrain spots are located along the course, adding variety for freeriding.
Advanced skiers often enjoy the gamma 900 course, a 900-meter mogul run that is highly regarded by mogul enthusiasts. On mornings after fresh snowfall, it may also offer excellent powder. The beta 800 course, with a maximum slope angle of 38 degrees, is the steepest run at Meiho and attracts skilled skiers looking for a challenge.
Families and children can use the large kids’ park, while snowboarders and freestyle riders can enjoy a snow park produced by a professional snowboarder, with features such as kickers and boxes.
From the 2025-26 season, a new observation deck terrace opened at the summit. It is attracting attention as a scenic viewpoint with 360-degree panoramas toward Mount Ontake, Mount Norikura, the Hakusan range, and surrounding mountains. A weekday-only pet-friendly course has also been introduced, allowing guests to enjoy the slopes with their dogs.
Access and Parking Information for Meiho Ski Resort
By car:
To reach Meiho Ski Resort by car, exit the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway at Gujo Hachiman IC, then drive along the Seseragi Kaido route for about 30 minutes. Because this route differs from the Takasu IC area used by many Okumino ski resorts, it can help avoid congestion that often occurs around Takasu IC on peak weekends and holidays. Winter tires are recommended because the mountain roads near the resort may be snowy or icy.
By train and bus:
When using public transportation, free shuttle buses requiring advance reservation are available from Gujo Hachiman Station on the Nagaragawa Railway Etsumi-Nan Line or Takayama Station on the JR Takayama Main Line. Parking:
The resort has a large parking area with space for up to 3,500 vehicles. Parking is free on weekdays and 1,000 yen on holidays. During peak-season weekends and holidays, the lots may fill early, so advance parking reservations through the official site can also be useful.

Ski center and food:
On the first floor of the ski center, BASE CAFE serves burgers made with 100% beef patties that are cooked after each order. The burgers are a signature menu item and have sold more than 16,000 in a single season, making them popular with skiers and snowboarders after time on the slopes.
Rentals and ski school:
The rental shop offers around 2,000 sets of equipment, covering everyone from beginners to advanced users. Advance reservations are available through the official website, helping visitors complete rental procedures smoothly even on busy weekends and holidays. A ski school is also available for first-time skiers and snowboarders.
Hot spring after skiing:
Meiho Onsen Yuseikan is about three minutes by car from the ski resort. Its open-air baths are surrounded by natural scenery and are a relaxing place to recover after a full day on the slopes. The alkaline spring quality is gentle on the skin, and the facility is also popular with families.
