Akagi Castle Park in Akagi, Kiwacho, Kumano City, Mie Prefecture is a nationally designated historic site that was developed on the site of Akagi Castle, which was built by Todo Takatora during the Sengoku period. Although it is located in the mountains, it is surrounded by high stone walls and is known as a valuable relic that combines castle building techniques from the Middle Ages and the early modern period. Currently, the stone walls are being restored, and from the main bailey where cherry trees are planted, you can see the traditional landscape of terraced rice fields.
