Tanize Suspension Bridge in Totsukawa Village, Nara Prefecture is the longest iron wire suspension bridge in Japan for daily use, boasting a length of 297m and a height of 54m. It spans the Totsukawa River (Kumano River), and its attractions include the thrill of it swaying with every step and the magnificent view of the nature below. It was built in 1954 with the villagers’ own funds, and is still used as a local road.
