Kanba Falls is located in Kanba, Maniwa City, Okayama Prefecture, and is one of the largest waterfalls in Western Japan, boasting a height of 110m and a width of 20m. It is characterized by its spectacular appearance of flowing down a cliff and the spray of water that looks like white cloth, and has been selected as one of the “100 Best Waterfalls in Japan” and a nationally designated scenic spot. The area around the waterfall is designated as a prefectural natural park, and you can enjoy the beautiful valley with fresh greenery in spring and autumn leaves in autumn.
To access Kanba Falls in Maniwa City, Okayama Prefecture, by car, it is about 40 minutes from Ochiai IC on the Chugoku Expressway, or about 30 minutes from Kuze IC or Yubara IC on the Yonago Expressway. If you use public transportation, it is about a 10-20 minute taxi ride from JR Chugoku Katsuyama Station.
There is free parking for 75 regular cars (77 or 94 depending on the source), 3 buses, and 6 motorcycles. There is no parking fee. Pets are not allowed in the park because wild monkeys live there.
