This is a live camera installed at Kakuzan Park in Sange, Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture. You can see Tsuyama Castle, Kakuzan Park, cherry blossoms (for a limited time), and Tsuyama City. It is operated by the Tsuyama City Tourist Association.
Tsuyama Castle was built in 1616 by Mori Tadamasa, the younger brother of Mori Ranmaru, who served Oda Nobunaga and was killed in the Honnoji Incident. The castle tower and other structures no longer remain due to the Meiji era castle abolition order, but the stone walls and earthen walls from that time remain, and the Bitchu Yagura (Bitchu Yagura) has been restored.
Currently, the ruins of Tsuyama Castle have been developed as Kakuzan Park, and the park is a famous cherry blossom spot with about 1,000 cherry trees in bloom, and has been selected as one of the “100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan.” The “Tsuyama Cherry Blossom Festival” is held every year during the cherry blossom season.
