Hamanoura’s Rice Terraces are a beautiful terraced rice field in Hamanoura, Genkai-cho, Saga Prefecture, with 283 rice fields of various sizes arranged in a stepped pattern on the slope facing the Genkai Sea. The area is 11.5 hectares and mainly Koshihikari rice is grown there. It is famous for the view of the sunset painting the sea and rice fields orange, and has been certified as one of the “100 Best Rice Terraces of Japan” and a “Saga Prefecture Heritage”.
