The Kando River (Kandogawa) is a first-class river in the Hii River system, originating in Mt. Mengame. The river has a length of about 82 km and a basin area of about 471 km². The upper reaches of the river are mountainous, the middle reaches form the Tachikue Gorge, and the lower reaches enrich the countryside of the Izumo Plain.
