Fuji Beach is a coastline spanning about 23km, located deep in Suruga Bay, from the mouth of the Fuji River to the mouth of the Kano River, and is characterized by steep slopes formed by lava flows from Mt. Fuji and crescent-shaped sandbars from sediment deposited by the Fuji River, in addition to sand dunes and pebble beaches; as the deepest bay in Suruga Bay, it is prone to large waves due to strong waves and winds, and the coast is protected by a seawall 17m high, making this coast an important area combining natural topography and disaster prevention functions.
