Kapposhi Terrace is an observation facility located on the summit of Mt. Awagatake (532m above sea level) in Higashiyama, Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Its official name is the “Awagatake Globally Heritage Chagusaba Terrace” and it opened in 2019. There is a glass terrace on the first floor and a panoramic terrace on the second floor, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the tea fields, Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay, and more. The cafe serves dishes made with local ingredients and Kakegawa tea. It also functions as a base for promoting the appeal of the “Chagusaba Farming Method,” which has been recognized as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System, and is a popular hiking and tourist spot.
