You can enjoy the natural beauty of the four seasons, such as moss phlox in spring, fresh greenery in summer, autumn leaves in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter. It is home to the only ski resort in Aichi Prefecture, and you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding in winter. In addition, activities such as go-karts and mountain biking, as well as dog runs, are also available, making it a popular tourist spot throughout the year.

Chausuyama Plateau is known for the spectacular view of moss phlox that spreads around the summit of Hagitaro Mountain, which is 1,358m above sea level. This flower field, known as the “Flower Corridor in the Sky,” is planted with about 400,000 moss phlox plants, and the flowers of various colors, such as pink, white, pale blue, and blue-purple, bloom like a carpet.

The best time to see the flowers is usually from mid-May to early June, when the “Moss Phlox Festival” is held. You can ride the sightseeing lift to view the flower field from the sky, or enjoy a magnificent panorama with the Southern Alps in the background from the observation deck. The area is also lit up at night, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Spots that look good on social media, such as the heart-shaped moss phlox, are also popular.

The autumn leaves of Chausuyama Plateau can be enjoyed around Chausuyama, which is 1,415 meters above sea level and located in Toyone Village, Kitashitara District, Aichi Prefecture. The best time to see the leaves is usually from mid-October to early November, when maples, Japanese maples, and Japanese maples change color beautifully. A magnificent view of autumn leaves spreads out from the summit of the highest peak in Aichi Prefecture. The view from the sightseeing lift is also spectacular. The Chausuyama Highlands Autumn Festival is held here, and the area is also illuminated on weekends. It is known as the most popular spot in the prefecture where the leaves change color the earliest.
