Yamato Katsuragiyama is a 959m high mountain located on the border between Nara Prefecture and Osaka Prefecture. It is almost in the center of Kongo-Ikoma Quasi-National Park, and was once the name of the entire mountain range including Kongo Mountain. The area near the summit is a grassy plateau, and in spring it is covered with azaleas, and in autumn it is covered with Japanese silver grass. Historical sites related to Kukai remain on the mountainside, and a ropeway is also in place. It is a popular tourist spot where you can enjoy the natural beauty and views of the four seasons, and is also known as the highest peak in Osaka Prefecture.
