Ibukiyama is a mountain with an altitude of 1,377m that straddles the prefectural border between Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture and Gifu Prefecture. It is one of Japan’s 100 famous mountains and is the highest mountain in Shiga Prefecture. You can access Mt. Ibuki by climbing on foot or by car. If you want to climb the mountain, go up from the trailhead in Ueno, Maibara City, but if you are driving, you can go up to the 9th station from the Ibukiyama Driveway, which starts in Sekigahara Town, Gifu Prefecture.
