This is a live camera installed in Otaki Village, Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture. You can see images of three locations in the village: the south shore of Lake Ontake, Hakkaisan, and Tanohara. It is operated by the Otaki Tourist General Office. Otaki Village is a village at the foot of Mt. Ontake in Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture, in the southwest of Nagano Prefecture.

Located in Otaki Village, Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture, Lake Ontake is a beautiful artificial lake at an altitude of about 900m. It was created in 1961 by the construction of Makio Dam as a water source for the Aichi Irrigation Canal. The lake has a storage capacity of about 55 Nagoya Domes, and supports the fields of 27 cities and towns in Aichi and Gifu Prefectures, as well as domestic and industrial water for about 800,000 people. From spring to summer, the area is filled with fresh greenery and clear air, and recreational activities such as canoeing and walking are popular.

Hakkaisan is located near the fifth station of Mt. Ontake, and Hakkaisan Shrine is located there. The shrine enshrines Hakkaisan Daizurajin-o, Marishiten-son, Hachidairyuo-son, and Aizen-myo-o, and is especially known for its divine virtue of curing eye diseases. The sacred water in the shrine grounds is an object of worship, and many worshippers have been visiting since the Edo period.

Tanohara is a natural park that spreads out at the seventh station of the Otakiguchi trail of Mt. Ontake (2,180m above sea level), and there is a promenade in the Pumila belt that is more than 3km long. From spring to summer, you can see alpine plants and insects, and from the observation deck you can enjoy a panoramic view of Mt. Ontake, the Central Alps, and the Northern Alps. Even those who find it difficult to climb the mountain can pay their respects to the deity of Mt. Ontake at the remote worship site in the park.
