Momijidani Suspension Bridge is about 100 meters high and 320 meters long, has a wooden walkway, and is crowded with many tourists during the season when the autumn leaves turn red, yellow, orange, etc. When you cross the bridge, you can enjoy the scenery of the valley along with the surrounding nature.
Momijidani Suspension Bridge is one of the largest suspension bridges in Honshu, with a total length of 320 meters, located in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture, and is a famous spot for autumn leaves. The most beautiful autumn leaves season is from late October to mid-November, when about 3,000 maples and other trees turn red and yellow. From the bridge, you can get a panoramic view of the valley and the lake surface colored with autumn leaves, and the views are especially spectacular in the early morning and at dusk when the morning mist rolls in.
Designated a lovers’ sanctuary in 2013, there is a spot in the center of the bridge where you can attach a “love padlock.” There is also a mountain hawk statue on the opposite bank, which is a popular photo spot. There are also parking lots and rest facilities in the surrounding area.
