This is a live camera installed at Kinkaku-ji Temple in Kinkakujicho, Kita Ward, Kyoto. You can see Kinkaku-ji Temple. Kinkaku-ji Temple is officially called Rokuon-ji Temple, and is one of the subtemples of the Rinzai sect of Buddhism, the same as Ginkaku-ji Temple. You can also check the weather forecast, rain cloud radar and map.
Kinkaku-ji Temple was built in 1397 by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu as a three-story building, with the top floor covered in gold leaf. After being destroyed by arson in 1950, it was rebuilt in 1955.
There is a large pond called Kyokochi within the temple grounds, and the reflection of Kinkakuji on its surface is very beautiful, allowing you to enjoy the scenery throughout the seasons. In 1994, it was registered as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites “Cultural Monuments of Ancient Kyoto.”
