Approximately 1,500 Takato Kohigan cherry trees are planted in Takato Castle Ruins Park. Takato Ohiganzakura is a variety exclusive to Takato and is said to be the world’s best cherry blossom. Takato Joshi Park has been selected as one of the Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan” and Japan’s Top 3 Famous Cherry Blossom Spots. The best time to see them is usually from early to mid-April.
