This is a live camera of Yoshino cherry blossoms and the cityscape installed at Yoshinosanjo Senbon in Yoshinoyama, Yoshino, Yoshino District, Nara. It is operated by Internet Nature Institute.
Mt. Yoshino is home to 30,000 cherry blossoms of about 200 varieties, mainly Shiroyamazakura, and is said to be the best cherry blossom viewing spot in Japan. The cherry blossoms are concentrated in four areas: lower, middle, upper, and back, and are called Shimosenbon, Nakasenbon, Kamisenbon and Okusenbon, depending on the location of the lower elevation. Senbon comes from the meaning of the luxury of seeing 1,000 pieces at a glance,” and is also called “1,000 pieces at a glance.”
The best time to see them is usually from early to late April, with the flowers gradually reaching their full bloom starting from lower elevations. You can also check the weather forecast, rain cloud radar and map.
