This is a live camera installed at Daikanbo Lookout in Yamada, Aso, Kumamoto. You can see the Aso sea of clouds, the five Aso mountains (Nekodake, Takadake, Nakadake, Kishimadake, Eboshidake), and Aso Valley (west wall of the east wall of the caldera). It is operated by Kumamoto Prefecture Tourist Federation.
Daikanbo Lookout is located at the highest peak of Mt. Aso (936m above sea level), and from the observatory you can see the cityscape of Aso, the five Aso mountains, and the Kuju mountain range. The Five Aso Mountains that can be seen from here are famous for the fact that they look like the reclining Buddha statue. The observatory also has a rest area, restaurant, and souvenir shop, and is also a popular tourist spot.
