About Ehime Prefecture
Ehime Prefecture is located in the northwest of Shikoku, and it is a long prefecture with a coastline surrounded by the Seto Inland Sea, Uwajima Sea (Pacific Ocean), and Hiundana. The prefectural capital is Matsuyama City, the population is approximately 1.33 million people (as of 2020), and the area is approximately 5,676 km², ranking it 26th nationwide. It is divided into three regions: Tōyo, Chūyo, and Nanyo, with Imabari City, Niihama City, and Uwajima City being the second and third major cities.
代表的な観光地は、日本三古湯のひとつ道後温泉、現存12天守のひとつ松山城、しまなみ海道の来島海峡大橋、南予の宇和島城・四国カルスト(姫鶴平)などです。自然面では四国最高峰の石鎚山(標高1,982m)、瀬戸内海の多島美、佐田岬半島など変化に富む地形が特徴で、肱川・重信川などの河川ライブカメラは防災情報としても広く利用されています。
